New Fair Trade Store in Guernsey Now Open

Child Labour

Another Chilling Reminder?

The Panorama special on Primark was another example of how easy it is to play a part in exploitation without realising it. The high street has become littered with shops selling "disposable" fashion clothes. We need to start taking responsibility for our shopping decisions, we need to understand that the cost to people and planet of producing cheap clothing is not always reflected in the price tag - but somewhere, somehow, the full cost is being paid, in misery, poverty, environmental damage. It is time to question the source - ask shops about the origin of goods, ask about child labour and make better informed choices on the high street.

New Shop Opening

Mondomundi's latest new store

After a very amicable discussion, the mundi group has agreed to take over fellow Fair Trade shop, Jyra. The new shop will be rebranded as mondomundi and will continue to stock a wide range of high quality Fair Trade items. Many new lines are being sourced specifically for the new shop, to ensure each outlet has something unique to offer. It will take a few weeks for the full effects to be felt, but hopefully, this will result in a further increase in the purchase of fair trade goods.
